Every year, hedge owners have maintenance trimming done to cut dead branches and narrow healthy branches (up to half) so that the hedge grows faster and becomes denser.
This hedge trimming, which should be done every year, allows you to choose the shape you want to give to it. We recommend trimming the top in a rounded and narrower shape than the base so that sunlight reaches the entire hedge and snow does not bend the upper branches in the winter season. We can also add fertilizer to stimulate growth if you request it.
The goal is to maintain a clean and well-defined hedge, as an unmaintained hedge can quickly become unruly. Annual trimming helps prevent this issue.
By cutting the tips, new branch growth is stimulated, making the hedge denser and more uniform. It then becomes more effective at providing protection from wind and prying eyes.
Removing dead sections also helps reduce the risk of disease. Air circulates more easily and light reaches the entire plant more effectively.

If your hedge is young (less than three years old), maintenance trimming will involve cutting the branches on the sides to allow it to grow taller and denser.
