Maintaining Your Cedar Hedge
A cedar hedge requires minimal care, especially in its first few years.
The plants need deep watering during hot weather. The water must reach the roots, so it’s better to water deeply once or twice a week rather than lightly every day.
Mulch can be placed around the base of the trunks to help retain moisture and reduce weed growth.
Every spring, we recommend applying a conifer fertilizer rich in nitrogen to keep the cedars green and support their growth.
Ideally, cedars should be trimmed annually by our experts, either before the peak summer heat or at the start of fall.
You should also watch for signs of yellowing or pest infestations—and call us if you notice anything unusual.
